How to Have a Smooth and Pleasant Wedding Morning: Beauty Preparations on the Morning of Your Destination Wedding as The Bride to be

The morning of your destination wedding is a flurry of excitement and anticipation. As a professional makeup artist specializing in destination weddings, I understand the importance of ensuring you and your bridal party look and feel your best for the big day. In this guide, I'll walk you through what to expect and how to prepare for the beauty preparations on the morning of your wedding, ensuring you're camera-ready for those unforgettable moments captured by your photographer and friends.

1. Schedule and Timeline: This is so important to make sure things run smoothly and as stress free as possible.

   - Coordinate with your wedding planner and other vendors to establish a timeline for the morning preparations.

- Communicate with your wedding photographer on their what types of photos you'd like to be captured that morning so that they can set up their arrival time and let the stylist and makeup artist know their preferred "ready by" time.

   - Allocate sufficient time for each member of the bridal party, including hair, makeup, and getting dressed. I will personally create a schedule for services that day to make sure things run on time.

   - Factor in travel time if the ceremony and reception locations are separate.

2. Bridal Beauty Prep:

- Get plenty of rest and stay hydrated in the days leading up to the wedding to achieve a radiant complexion.

   - The morning of the BIG DAY begin with an eye mask and a gentle face massage to detoxify the skin. Then, if you have a specific skincare routine, you can go ahead and do it as long as you avoid using too many oils on the skin. I also carry all types of skincare to prepare your skin for the best makeup application.

3. Bridal Party Coordination:

   - Communicate with your bridal party about the timeline and any specific beauty requirements. It is essential that everyone know where they need to be and to show up on time for each service.

   - Encourage your bridesmaids to arrive with clean faces and hair clean and dried so its ready for styling to streamline the process.

4. Non Makeup Essentials:

   - Have a bridal beauty emergency kit on hand, including essentials like a small pair of scissors, double sided tape, a mini sewing kit, a handheld fan, deodorant, and if you're a crier you'll need to have pre folded tissues on hand to capture those tears before they run down your face. Have your MOH hold them or another trick is to hide them behind the stem of your bouquet.

5. Photographer's Perspective:

   - Collaborate with your photographer to capture candid moments of the beauty preparations, such as applying makeup or sharing laughs with your bridal party.

   - Choose a well-lit and spacious getting-ready area with ample natural light for stunning pre-wedding photos.

   - Incorporate sentimental details into your bridal suite decor that reflect your personality and wedding theme for visually captivating shots.

Most photographers will need a few of your personal items ready for when they arrive. Things like, the wedding invitations, your shoes, your perfume, your accessories and anything else sentimental you may want to incorporate. Have these items ready before you start your hair and makeup so that you are not getting up multiple time, stressing to find them while you should be in "pamper/relaxation mode".

 - Communicating these details also gives the beauty team a better idea on what time they need you to be ready by and send you off to get into your dress!

6. Relaxation and Enjoyment:

   - Take moments throughout the morning to breathe, relax, and soak in the joyous atmosphere surrounded by your loved ones.

- Have fun and trust the team you hired to do what they each do best.

   - Delegate tasks to trusted friends or family members to alleviate stress and allow you to focus on savoring the precious moments.

The morning of your destination wedding sets the tone for the rest of the day, and proper beauty preparations are essential for looking and feeling your best. By following these tips and working closely with your makeup artist, bridal party, and photographer, you'll ensure a seamless and unforgettable start to your wedding day journey. Trust in the process, embrace the excitement, and get ready to shine as the radiant bride you've always dreamed of being.
