For a photoshoot, makeup is designed specifically for the lens — lighting, flash, high-resolution detail, and how dimension translates digitally. Every adjustment is intentional. What feels subtle in person can disappear on camera. Most of the time you only have a few minutes in between shots to change the make up look due to time restraints and natural lighting needed for each specific shot. What looks perfect to the eye can read flat in a photograph.

It has to translate under professional lighting, high-resolution lenses, and multiple angles without washing out features or losing definition.

For this shoot, I designed the makeup around a hotel campaign representing the modern business woman—polished, confident, and professional.

•Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing: Best for severe acne scars, deep wrinkles, and significant texture issues.
•Fraxel or Clear + Brilliant: Recommended for a series of treatments to improve skin tone, pore size, and texture.

For many of my brides, distance and timing don’t always allow for a traditional makeup trial — and that’s completely understood.

What becomes essential in these cases is choosing a makeup artist whose work you consistently connect with. When an artist shows up regularly and creates looks that align with your desired aesthetic and vibe, it builds trust and reassurance. Seeing familiarity in their work allows you to feel confident that you share the same vision, taste, and approach.

When a trial isn’t possible, I offer private one-on-one Zoom consultations. During these sessions, we explore everything I would normally assess in person — your facial features, personal style, wedding gown, and the overall feeling you want to embody on your wedding day. 2016 was a year filled with fun photoshoots, ad campaigns, weddings, and a lot of makeup experimenting on myself! In general a very colorful year! Back then I used to do more fun and dramatic makeup for my instagram (mostly on myself) and I was also working freelance at the MAC PRO store in Chicago where I met some amazing artists and people I still keep in contact with. My personal freelance business was taking off and I was very passionate and loving Chicago city life. As you grow and experience, you develop your signature style. I’m so happy to be where I am today and all the beautiful experiences I have had and all the people I have met. I am grateful to be just as passionate and even more driven than ever in my career. 🤍
